CLIMATE CHANGE PROJECTIONS FOR ONTARIO

What will Ontario’s climate be like 20, 50 or 90 years from now? Pick a level of greenhouse gases, a time period, a season, and a region of Ontario, and see what our climate might be like in the future!

The Ontario government is providing this web tool to help Ontarians understand climate change. It shows you what the province’s climate might look like during the 21st century under two possible courses of human behaviour on greenhouse gas emissions.

  • You can choose to look at maps of future average summer temperatures, average winter temperatures, precipitation from April to September, or precipitation from October to March.
  • You can choose to look at maps of the possible future climate during three time periods – the early, middle or late 21st century.
  • You can choose to look at maps of the possible future climate depending on two courses of human behaviour that affect greenhouse gas emissions.
  • And you can choose to look at all of Ontario or parts of the province.
